If you are not already aware, severe weather is in the forecast beginning today and possibly continuing for at least the next 36 hours. Much of the central part of the country is under threat of severe thunderstorms including lightning, large hail, damaging winds, possible long track tornadoes, and more flooding. An Amazing Fire Escape

Thank goodness cats have nine lives! A cat (who should be named Lucky) escaped a fire in West Orange, New Jersey this weekend with several lives intact. A two-story apartment house caught fire this weekend. No humans were injured in the blaze, but firefighters feared the worst for a tenant’s cat. When the fire was finally out, firefighters found the cat — it had survived the fire inside a couch. The cat had wedged itself down into the cushions and came through the fire without injury. Clarifying What Constitutes an Emergency

We’re still working out the specifics around here of what exactly constitutes an “emergency.” You’d think after nearly twenty years of family life it would be pretty well established, but that’s just not the case.
